SC00Disabled

Supercharging Disabled

A vehicle record code associated with disabled Tesla Supercharging access. Confirm the current charging status and the reason for the restriction on the exact car.

  • The record indicates Tesla Supercharging access is disabled
  • The code alone does not establish current third-party charging capability
  • Ask Tesla to confirm the restriction, current review process, and any available remedy for the exact VIN
SC01Transferable

Free Unlimited Supercharging (Transferable)

Unlimited free supercharging that is transferable to the next owner on private sale. Transfer status is subject to Tesla's current policies; verify before you buy.

  • Unlimited free supercharging
  • Transferable to the next owner on private sale
  • January 15, 2017 and April 2017 are useful screening boundaries, not known hard rules
  • SC01 has been observed on vehicles outside the commonly cited production window
  • Always verify the current status directly with Tesla before completing a purchase
SC04Standard

Supercharging Enabled (Pay Per Use)

A pay-per-use Supercharging code. A code in a stored record does not by itself establish the car's current billing result.

  • Associated with pay-per-use Tesla Supercharging
  • Record the code source and date
  • Verify current access and billing on the exact car
SC05Reported Nontransferable

Free Unlimited Supercharging (Reported Nontransferable)

Free unlimited Supercharging that has historically been reported as tied to the current account rather than the vehicle after transfer. Check Tesla's current policy for the exact car.

  • Historically reported as nontransferable after a change of ownership
  • Current treatment is controlled by Tesla's policy and the exact vehicle record
  • Looks identical to SC01 in the Tesla app
  • Record the source and date of the code before relying on it
SC06Time Limited

Time Limited Free Supercharging

Free supercharging for a limited period, typically 6 to 12 months. Transferability upon sale is uncertain.

  • Temporary free supercharging, usually 6 to 12 months
  • Often part of promotional offers or referral programs
  • Transferability to new owner is uncertain/unlikely
  • Reverts to pay per use after the promotional period expires
‘Free Supercharging’ does not identify the code.
The most common mistake buyers make is seeing “Free Supercharging” in the Tesla app and assuming it's SC01. Many sellers genuinely don't know the difference. SC05 shows identical language in the app, including “Free Supercharging” and “Lifetime Award.” SC05 has been reported as returning to pay-per-use treatment after transfer. Check the option code and Tesla's current policy for the exact car.
